Traditional materials used for fans, such as Japanese paper, lacquer and gold leaf, are carefully selected and processed by hand. Particular attention to materials, such as the incorporation of environmentally friendly natural materials, is directly linked to quality.
Each fan reflects the attention to detail with hand-painted decorations and precision assembly. Each part is carefully finished to create a unique beauty and warmth.
He is a traditional craftsman of Kyoto fans, designated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. It is said that fans have been produced since the Nara period and based on inherited techniques and wisdom, new attempts are being made, such as fans for left-handed people and Shibu fans (made from Japanese paper coated with persimmon tannin) that challenge the world record in the number of fan bones.
